A young couple came to Colonelz with a vision as vivid as their journey together - from college mates to a thriving life in business and corporate, they wanted their home to be a personal homage to everything they had built. The ask was beautifully specific: a colourful, minimalistic home where the walls themselves would be the art.
The space had to honour two contrasting personalities - the husband's calm, clear-cut sensibility and the wife's bold, expressive energy - while remaining warm and comfortable for their elderly parents who would share the home.
The design philosophy was rooted in contrast — not as tension, but as harmony. Each space was conceived to carry its own signature colour, letting a single bold statement dominate while the rest of the room stepped back with quiet restraint.
Ceilings were kept deliberately simple throughout, ensuring that every accent, every piece of furniture, every carefully chosen hue could hold the floor without competition. The walls were not backdrops. They were the design.
The living room opens with a striking geometric grey panel wall — structured, precise, and understated — against which the jewel-toned furniture commands complete attention. A deep forest green sectional sofa anchors the room with weight and warmth, while a mustard leather accent chair introduces a shot of energy and playfulness. Overhead, a cluster of mosaic pendant lights catches the light like a constellation, adding glamour without overwhelming the composition. The marble and brass coffee table bridges the two worlds — grounded and luxurious at once.
Moving through to the dining space, a herringbone timber ceiling panel frames the zone with richness and definition, its warmth offsetting the cooler tones of the navy dining cabinetry below. The dining table — dressed in cream and navy chairs with a sculptural gold-legged base — sits against a travertine feature wall that brings natural texture and quiet grandeur to the entertaining area. The overall effect is of a space that knows how to host — effortlessly, beautifully.
The puja unit was designed with equal intention. Nested seamlessly within the entertainment room wall, its pocket doors close flush with the surrounding storage, maintaining the clean visual language of the space when not in use. When open, the warm bronze jaali detailing at the top, the Om motif on the back wall, and the golden shelving create a sanctified niche that feels considered and deeply personal — devotion made architectural.
The master bedroom is where the design shifts register entirely. Deep navy panelling frames the room with quiet authority, enveloping a richly textured concrete-effect feature wall behind the bed. A tall, channel-tufted upholstered headboard in warm sand rises against this backdrop, its verticality drawing the eye upward. Caramel bed linen and navy cushions complete the palette — bold, restful, and unmistakably intentional. Floor-to-ceiling sheer curtains frame a sweeping city view, connecting the intimacy of the room to the world beyond.
House of Colour is a home that wears its story openly. Every room is a chapter — distinct in mood, unified in character. What Colonelz delivered was not just an interior, but a living portrait of two people: their contrasts, their shared life, and the beauty that emerges when bold design meets deeply personal intent.
